Yet another reason to do it yourself…

December 30, 2004

The NASD released its year-end stats yesterday and they provide one more reason why it’s important to DIY. Though the number of customer complaints declined slightly, fines paid by firms and/or brokers increased nearly three-fold and 380 individuals were suspended. Those who continue to use a broker are spending more time checking him or her out before signing on the dotted line, according to the stats, which showed there were 3.7 million broker checks in 2004 — more than double the number of checks made in 2001.

I’m still working on making changes to the site and still welcome your suggestions for making it better. Wishing everyone a happy 2005!
