Poor Carly!

There’s a oft-cited statistic that women make less than men, even when they’re in the same job. But at Hewlett Packard (HPQ) , CEO Carly Fiorina’s total compensation is less than four of the five members of her executive team, according to the proxy filed earlier today. At $3.51 million in total comp in fiscal 2003, compared with $4.12 million in fiscal 2002, which, of course, isn’t exactly chopped liver, only the executive vice president for the printing and imaging division, Vyomesh Joshi, made less: $3.28 million. Meanwhile, HP’s Chief Marketing Officer, Michael Winkler, saw his salary more than double between 2002 and 2003 and his total compensation increase more than 30 percent to $3.98 million.
