My Sally Field moment…

April 4, 2006

field.gif I was in Chicago yesterday to speak and because of the storms, my flight was delayed and I didn’t make it back home until 3 a.m. Since reading SEC filings is next-to-impossible on a Treo, I don’t have any filings to write about today, or at least right now. I will try and post something new later today, once I make another pot of coffee.

Now about Sally Field: back in 1985, when she accepted the Oscar for "Places in the Heart", she said "You like me, you really like me." Well, that’s kind of how I felt Sunday night when I opened my email to find that a footnoted.org reader liked the site enough to send me a $1,000 donation. Reading SEC filings and blogging about them, as I’ve been doing for the past 2 1/2 years, is often lonely work, not to mention incredibly time consuming. Which is why it’s always nice to hear from readers who share their own tips on things they’ve found in the filings. Even nicer is when readers contribute money to the site to help keep it going. So if you like footnoted.org and like the fact that it’s independent and advertising-free, please consider making a donation. Help me have another Sally Field moment.
