Here at footnoted.org, I write about things that are buried in the fine print. When it comes to charitable organizations, I try to do something similar: find lesser known organizations that are doing good work, even if they’re not being featured on CNN or have some glossy brochure.
Here’s one that I donated to yesterday that provides services to pets abandoned as a result of Katrina. They already have 400 volunteers on the ground just outside of New Orleans and are dealing with hundreds of abandoned pets.
The important thing is to give something — to Noah’s Wish or some other deserving non-profit.
