My mortgage on my current home was with Countrywide originally at 7% fixed. About 3 years later, they offered us a re-mortgage at 5.75 fixed. We took out some more money for home improvements, showed the deal to our accountant who felt is was a really good deal. They emailed me closing costs, two days before closing which was less than their original estimates, and closed with no problems. We were working with their people in their Tarrytown office. Since I've heard all kinds of horror stories about refinancing, I just thought I'd point out how happy I was with my deal. I’d like to add one thing.
