RIP .... and deservedly. Who needs a mortgage bank where there is NO human being to speak to.... no one calls back and no one cares. WAMU screwed up my credit and failed to recognize their fault in the process -- in spite of a letter from my banker, following a sudden buyout of Coast Bank (Bradenton). Coast's accounts were closed, including credit cards, online accounts, online transfers and payments. First Bank took over and required all new accounts -- and new online agreements. What a mess. Meanwhile WAMU hounded me for payments that were formerly transfers, and my paper checks (two months worth) bounced around their offices -- and were six weeks late in posting. I called numerous times, numerous days, many weeks, and could never speak to the same person and no one was authorized to remove the late payment reports from my credit. The only valid reason for removing the false report was if I sent a letter from my bank accepting responsibility. Finally, I talked to one person in Texas, who, after I faxed the banker's letter (third time), agreed to remove the late payment report they had made to credit reporting agencies. Now they refuse to remove late fees. Bye-bye WAMU, it couldn't happen to any better corporation. Too big, too almighty, and too rude.
